Christmas Recap
There was completely a theme for me at Christmas - perhaps I am becoming predictable? - but this year, my presents were either purple or sparkly, or both!

* 600 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, purple. Check.
* 1 carat silver/garnet necklace. Check
* Sonic toothbrush/cleaner thingy, purple. Check.
* Gift certificates for pedicures, toes WILL be purple. Check.

And then, my new glasses arrived this weekend and THEY are purple too! Speaking of, I am completely sold on Zenni Optical. $8 for lenses AND frames! And no confirmation from your optometrist required, like 1-800-Contacts or whatever. I really desperately needed new glasses (my old ones, while Versace, were 2 1/2 prescriptions behind my contacts and I couldn't afford the $3-400 for a new pair).

But back on track. I think this was one of the least stressful holidays I have had in YEARS. I was not feeling festive or social on Christmas Eve, so my roommate made me a bowl of popcorn, we opened a few bottles of wine and watched Princess Bride and Stardust. Very chill.

Christmas day, woke up to lots of coffee. Roommates and significant others and dog and I opened presents at home -- gift giving successful! Then several friends came over for "Christmas Brunch" - vegan biscuits and gravy, eggs, cinnamon buns, and LOTS of mimosas. Genius. Later, when the rush calmed down, we went to see Sherlock Holmes, which was great and basically written by slashers. And that was it. Peaceful, no screaming fights. No stressing. Yay.

Three days til California, twelve days til my birthday. And now to make lentil soup!
